The South Asia Institute (SAI) at Columbia University offers a Master of Arts Program in South Asia Studies that gives students opportunities to engage with critical issues in a region that includes Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with some of the most distinguished South Asia scholars in the U.S. Ideal for both professionals seeking regional knowledge and students planning to pursue a Ph.D. in the future, the program prepares graduates for careers in government, public policy, non-profit organizations, journalism, education, the private sector, and academia. Students at Columbia College, Barnard College, and General Studies at Columbia may enroll in the BA-MA program, which allows undergraduates to earn an MA in one additional year of study.
