The South Asia Institute has been designated as a National Resource Center (NRC) by the U.S. Department of Education (USED) for almost 50 years. As an NRC, the USED directs the South Asia Institute to undertake activities, training and resources for K-12 educators, two-year and four year college instructors, and colleges that are designated as Minority Serving Institutions, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Title III and Title V schools.
